oh. my. doodness.

i really need to step up and keep this blog up. on the off chance that anyone still reads. :) well... my june moms are putting together a list of blogs, so maybe more people will come? ha! not if i dont start updating!

so.... what have we been up to since december? hrmm... well he split his head open, as you know, and that healed up real quick. he still has a little pink scar, but it'll give him character when he's older. :D christmas was AWESOME! santa brought him drums, a cymbal and a camera - just like he asked. :) he started a new preschool in january and has absolutely blossomed in the few short months he's been there. he's talking like a big boy, taking charge of the whole "potty" situation, he's sharing and taking turns and telling stories! this morning he kept saying "no me caleb! me baby bird! dissis my NEST!" (he made a nest out of my pillows and blanket) :)

ummm... he got a big boy bed right after christmas and let me tell you - that was a REALLY ROUGH few months. seriously - i wasnt sure we'd survive... but i knew i couldnt risk the monkey climbing out of the crib and either 1) breaking his OTHER leg or 2) cracking his head open AGAIN. so the big boy bed stayed, and now (4 months later) he's doing much better. :D

we took a trip to AZ in february. the two of us flew (by ourselves!) each way, and that was fun. he was ALL excited about flying on an airplane - then promptly fell asleep about 5 mins into the flight and woke up as we were landing. its a short flight, but still. he missed the best part! (the pretzels and drinks) we had a wonderful visit with another june baby and definitely look forward to going back!

in november, at 2y5m he hit the weight limit on RFing in his car seat :( it goes to 35lbs and when he hopped on the scale he was 36 - yikes!! so i turned him FF and he's been diggin in. it still makes me nervous sometimes, but i cant shell out the $$ for three more seats to keep him RFing for another 4lbs. its all good... and hey - i made it past 2 and that was my goal! :) waa hoo!!

we got some exciting news at easter (and the week after) - my 2 cousins are pregnant again and due later this year! :) cousin J is due in october and cousin C is due in december. its going to be an exciting year! cousin T is due next month... im not sure if i shared that. it'll be baby #2 for cousins J and C, but baby #1 for cousin T. i cant wait! :)

um. hrm. thats about it...? OH! okay, some of his favorite sayings (this week) are:

oh. my. DOODNESS. (sometimes followed by "my house is shaking!" thanks to the big earthquake we had on easter)
dis one, dis one, dis one... what you want?
pee pee AND poo poo (when he's being naughty)
me stay in bed alllll night!
me need YOOOOOOOOUUUUUU
up high! down low TOO SLOW!

and finally - he counts like this: 1,2,3,7,8,9,10,11,12,14,17,18,19,20 and does his alphabet like this: a b c e f f f o o o o o o o o ooooooooooooooo then he laughs *ahem* HOWEVER. he can identify all of his letters on site - and takes pride in spelling out every sign/book/whatever he sees... and he can tell you what sounds about 3/4 of the letters say. or if you give him the sound he will give you the letter.

he's a genius. im really starting to realize that. :D :D :D

okay - theres my "bring you up to date" post. now i just need to remember to get on here and talk more. as if thats ever been a problem, c'mon now.
